We’re excited to share a short natural history publication that past intern Alex Wendt published in the scientific journal Herpetological Review. Alex spent two months in the Jama-Coaque Reserve searching for reptiles and amphibians, and encountered a new species for the Reserve’s species list with his pit-fall trap study. We expected this species was present in the Reserve, but we couldn’t officially report it until Alex found the below individual. His finding extended the known range of the species 74 kilometers South and into a new province (Manabi Province). Since participating in our internship program Alex has moved onto graduate school, where he is about to graduate with a Masters in Conservation Genetics. Congrats Alex!
